The Hinagdanan Cave, which translates as "Laddered" in Cebuano, is one of the numerous fascinating caverns on Bohol's island province. A farmer discovered the cave by accident when he was clearing his land and discovered two holes. Curious, he dropped a stone and heard splash. He constructed a "hagdan" or a ladder to gain entry to the cave and discover its hidden beauty, thus the name Hinagdanan.

Only one person can access the cave's entrance, which leads to a cavern less than a hundred meters long. Natural water droplets in the cave provide the slimy and silky friction on the walkway. Hinagdanan is a karsts cave which means it is made of limestone. In addition, boasting several stalactite and stalagmite formations parallel to each other and a fresh water lagoon that is about 10 to 12 meters deep.

Restaurants and souvenir shops have built near the cave as a result of its growing popularity, allowing tourists and locals alike to have a pleasant meal before or after their dip. After your visit to Hinagdanan, you can visit other nearby tourist attractions such as the Dauis Church, Bikini Beach, or Bingag Beach.
